Welcome from the minister

It is a joy an honour to be the new Minister of Lanchester Methodist Church and Superintendent Minister of North West Durham Methodist Circuit. I’m already discovering that Lanchester is a great place to live I have encountered warm, friendly people whenever I’ve been out and about in the village.

Whilst I am Minister here, I will endeavour, with God’s help. To serve the church and wider community, with God’s help, to the best of my ability, working closely alongside the good hearted, Jesus centred people of the church.

It is my hope and intention that Lanchester Methodist Church will continue to be at the heart of the community here; welcoming all irrespective of age, ability, status, history, ethnicity, sexuality or gender. We invite and encourage you to come and join us in our worship and to become part of our Christian community.

If you have a look through our website you can find out about all our different groups and activities, which we gladly offer and participate in.

If you cannot get to or church on a Sunday we offer a livestream of our morning service and our online congregation are as welcomed and loved as those who attend in person.

We are motivated and driven by passionate Christian discipleship: offering God the best quality worship we can, seeking every day to become more faithful followers of Jesus empowered by the Holy Spirit and to love others as we love ourselves.

Churches are not just called to look after and serve their members, but to be at the very heart of their local community, connecting with local people and sharing your joys and sorrows. At Lanchester Methodist Church we very much hope that we do this, alongside our Christian siblings in the other village churches.
