Welcome to Lanchester Methodist Church!
We’ve taken some risks over the last few years.
We focused our energies into delivering a worship experience on Sunday mornings which aims to include people steeped in church and people just browsing. Youngest to oldest and everything in between; a crèche room with monitors showing worship next door; children’s groups; adult themes explored which link to midweek cell group conversations; new songs and old hymns led by our talented musicians. Come and see!
If you like quieter, more traditional worship, we offer that every Sunday evening, with organ music and space to pray and think.
This menu of opportunities is planned to meet our various needs, and yours. We hope we offer radical hospitality, intentional opportunities for faith development, passionate worship, and a generosity of spirit which is extravagant -
We continue to attract new people and commission others to leave us for a time to minister elsewhere in God’s mission. Yet most come, stay and love being part of the family here. We believe that Church here is a good experience, so please come and see for yourselves!
The photo below shows me, my wife Claire and our little grandson Levi. We have two daughters in their 20s, now living away – Ami lives in Longbenton and works as a paediatric nurse at the Great North Children’s Hospital; Naomi is currently on maternity leave from her job managing overseas literacy, refugee and AIDS projects for the Bible Society in Swindon.
